Contract and launch with mobile operator 3
Challenger Mobile AB has entered into an agreement with mobile operator 3 (Hi3G Access AB), which means that the companies together enable the launch of IP telephony in the mobile phone to 3’s mobile phone customers in Sweden.
The service is launched by 3 on June 1st and is called 3Global WiFi.
Based on Challenger Mobile’s technology for mobile IP telephony and related services the operator 3 is now offering to its customers the opportunity to make considerably less expensive calls home to Sweden during their stays abroad.
By using 3Global Wifi, customers can avoid expensive roaming charges and have total control over their mobile phone bill during the stay abroad.
The service consists of an application for iPhone and Android based phones, and various minutes packages the customer orders, via SMS or 3s client platform Planet3.
Customers can choose from three different packages, 25 minutes for 49 SEK, 60 minutes for 99 SEK or 100 minutes for 149 kr.
The service is used to make calls to Sweden from abroad when the phone is connected to the Internet via WiFi.
